Uma Krishnan, born on 2nd July 1956 & turning 60 today, is popularly known as mother of famous South Indian actor Trisha Krishnan.
She comes from a family that strongly believes in woman power, imbibing the strong traits from her mother Saradha. She is a doting daughter, a caring sister and a wonderful friend. Above all, she has been the best mother that every daughter would crave for. She dedicated her life in shaping Trisha's career right from day 1, quitting her corporate job and ably manages her daughter's professional commitments as well as holding the home fortress stronger.

If Trisha is known as someone who always voices for the cause of animals in the society, that is a quality that she ingested from her mother. Uma is equally sensitive towards animals, gave Trisha a congenial environment at home while she was growing to develop the benevolence towards them. Pets are always treated as a family member.

At the same time, Uma is a non-starry star mom. She is silent, and has refused any spotlight that comes her way. She has even refused few offers to star in the movies to concentrate on her daughter's career. Only on one occasion she broke the jinx and agreed to co-star in a TVC along with Trisha for basmati rice brand - Kohinoor directed by A.L. Vijay, but again as Trisha's mother in front of the camera :)
She has been the strongest support system of Trisha, always holding her back through success and more importantly the toughest of the times.
"I have only one daughter and she means the world to me. Our bonding is strong as ever because both of us work constantly to keep it that way by being honest with each other. There is nothing on this earth that I wouldn't do to keep her happy"
Always holding Trisha's back, being the wind behind her daughter's wings
Trisha: "The best thing I have learned from mom is never to flinch when a tough situation arises but to face it, fight it and sail through with a lot of strength and courage"
One can feel how proud mother she can be in this video, where she talks about Trisha being featured along with yesteryear super stars Saroja Devi and Khusboo in jfW magazine's 5th anniversary issue
A person who believes in aging gracefully, she credits her beauty secret to being fit and active physically and mentally.
Wishing her a wonderful and healthy year ahead!!
