Movies

In 2015, Trisha had 6 movie releases - Tamil (4) & Telugu (2), next highest to her 7 releases in 2008 & equaling 6 each in 2003, 2005 & 2006.

The list of movies in 2015 and their release dates:

1. Yennai Arindhaal – Feb 5, 2015
2.  Lion – May 14, 2015
3.  Sakalakalavallavan – July 31, 2015
4.  Thoongaavanam – Nov 10, 2015
5.  Cheekati Raajyam – Nov 20, 2015
6.  Bhooloham – Dec 24, 2015

Yennai Arindhaal with Ajith, directed by Gautham Menon was a huge hit and her character Hemanika was very well received by the audience and critics. The movie completed 50 successful days at the box office.

Dilani Rabindran of Behindwoods.com quotes "There may be no better 21st century director/actress collaboration than Gautham Menon and the timeless Trisha. He writes female leads that are of substance that would naturally come across as ethereally beautiful played by any lovely actress, but Trisha’s grace and acting talent bring something memorable to those roles. After longing for the unforgettable Jessie of VTV for years we were blessed with her Hemanika"

Lion with Balakrishna was her come back movie to Telugu after a long gap of 3 years & Sakalakalavallavan, a full length comedy with Jayam Ravi, after their successful combo in Unakkum Enakkum – both the movies couldn’t make it big at the box office.

Thoongaavanam & Cheekati Raajyam marked a special place in Trisha’s career, her 50th movie in 13 years. Trisha played a cop for the first time in her career and pulled of some tough stunts with ease. Her stunt sequence with Kamal Hassan (with whom she is pairing for the second time) in the kitchen is one of the most talked about stunts performed by an actress in the recent times). The movie, a Diwali release got very good appreciation from the audience and critics for its performances, making & technical aspects and declared a hit by the trade. The movie also completed 50 days on 29th December

Bhooloham, her 2nd time pairing with Jayam Ravi was lying in the cans for couple of years after completion, but got a surprise release for Christmas weekend there by ending the year on a high note for Trisha. The movie opened to good reviews & good collections in its opening weekend.

Trisha also completed 13 years in the industry on 13th December, a rare feat for an actress. She also dubbed for her role in Thoongaavanam.

Personal

“2015 has been my year of self-realization” quotes Trisha.

In an interview to Lata Srinivasan, she sums up her 2015 as

"Professionally, it’s been very good and I have been satisfied with the kind of work I am doing. Personally, there’s been some ups and downs but it has been a year of self-realisation and it taught me a lot. I feel I have become wiser and grown over a year!"

After her broken engagement with businessman turned producer Varun Manian earlier in 2015, she came back stronger with back to back movies and let her entire concentration towards her work. She is going very stronger for an actress with 13 years of film journey with 6 films releasing this year and many more interesting projects committed in 2016.
She brought in her birthday on May 4th with her close friends in Bangkok. And after a very hectic working year, she went on a long holiday in US spending time in some of the dream destinations like Las Vegas, Napa Valley, skiing at Lake Tahoe & she will be bringing in the new year at San Francisco.
